Christopher YangChris is a freshman at Princeton University, studying Operations Research and Financial Engineering. He has been studying and playing chess since 2005 when he was six years old. After eight years of hard work and about two hundred chess tournaments, he became a USCF National Master (USCF rating 2200) in 2013. At the same time, he started teaching chess at GuangHua Chinese School and founded Chess Wizard Academy to teach private and small group lessons. His peak USCF rating is 2304.
His scholastic chess achievements include: 2016 USCF Scholar – Chess Player Awards 2016, 2015 Two times PA State High School Champion and PA Representative to the Denker Tournament of High School Champions. 2016 Led North Penn High School chess team to 5th place finish at PA State High School Championship 2015 Led North Penn High School chess team to a perfect 10-0 regular season and first ever playoff appearance. 2014 The 3rd Schein – Friedman Chess Camp/25th US Chess School participant 2014 PA state K-12 third place and 9th grade champion 2013 Philadelphia Chess League MVP 2013 Amateur East Champion 2013 PA state K-8 second place 2012 National Chess Action K6 second place, blitz K-6 champion 2010, 2011 Two time PA State K6 Elementary School Champion His student and club achievements include: 2018 PA State Championship:
